Anjali Seegobin
As a native New Yorker, Anjali was born and raised in Queens to a Guyanese immigrant family. She began community organizing in 2019, focusing on the intersections of gender based violence within the Indo-Caribbean community. Anjali currently serves as the community environmental justice fellow for Sadhana and hopes to create space and understanding for sustainable practices within her faith. She first participated in Project Prithvi through South Queens Women’s March and held discussions that focused on solution driven forms of worship that honor the environment while respecting ancestral traditions. Anjali is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration where she hopes to implement policies that uplift and empower her community.
